Situated overlooking the Serengeti Plains. This National Park is known for its large amount of grazing mammals, including 1.5 million wildebeest. Serengeti is derived from the Masaai word "Serenget" meaning "wide open space". The word is definitely true upon experiencing uninterrupted views under an African sky from the pool. The lodge has been constructed on a rocky outcrop, with the swimming pool having been built on a rock deck. The viewing deck and pool overlook the wide open plains and a water hole. The Watering point attracts a variety of visitors during the day and night. At Night the water hole is lit, attracting interesting nocturnal animals. Leopard, Lion, Cheetah and Hyena are often seen in close proximity to the lodge. Wildebeest move through the northern woodlands in most years from June - December to feed on the longer grasses that persist in this area. Their range during this time extends north into the Masai Mara. Rocky hills, rivers and woodlands typify this scenic area. A resident pride of Buffalo are usually seen.

Serena Beach Hotel
"The sea at coast region in Tanzania is as blue as a cornflower, and, outside the inlet to the harbour, the long breakers of the Indian Ocean draw a thin crooked white line, and give out a low thunder even in the calmest weather. " (Karen Blixen, Out of Africa) Styled to resemble a 13th century Swahili town complete with winding lanes, carved balconies, fountained courts and bustling market squares, the Serena Beach Hotel provides an oasis of tranquillity whilst delivering a unique mix of high-action water sports, sybaritic sun worship, world-class cuisine and vibrant nightlife. Set back from the powder-white sands and shimmering waters of the Marine Park, the hotel décor blends the time-honoured intricacy of Swahili carving with the jewelled glow of Arabian lanterns, the white-gleaming splendour of a Sultan's palace and the lotus-cool of a Persian water garden. The extensive coconut-palm cooled grounds offer an exotic mix of tropical trees and bright blossoms and centre on an idyllic sky-blue swimming pool with a thatched 'swim-up' bar and crystal waters that cascade into the tiled coolness.

Located on the unspoilt northwest coast of Zanzibar, this exclusive club offers sybaritic serenity, sun worship, swimming, sea sports, sumptuous seafood and a lavish array of barbecues, Swahili specialities and tropical fruits. The activities on offer include swimming, snorkelling, sea kayaking, diving, water sports, dhow trips and nature trails plus visits to a dhow workshop and the brooding caverns of the Mangapwani Slave Caves where slaves were hidden after the abolishment of slavery made their shipment illegal. They were then smuggled down to the slave ships at the dead of night. The Mangapwani Serena Beach Club can be enjoyed for days on the beach and lavish luncheons or booked for exotic evening cocktails and beach barbeques.

The Zanzibar Serena Inn
Idyllically situated on the sea front of ancient Stone Town, washed by the aquamarine waters of the Zanzibar channel, redolent of the scent of cloves and flanked by an exotic melange of sultan's palaces, Portuguese forts, ancient dhow harbours, dark slave markets, and bright bazaars, the Zanzibar Serena Inn is a haven of tranquillity and opulence amongst the bustle of Zanzibar. Faithfully restored and lavishly embellished with a jackdaw collection of antique clocks, crystal chandeliers, fretwork screens, carved staircases, Persian rugs and brass-studded doors, the interior design concept is a fusion of authenticity and opulence that reflects the very essence of Zanzibar.
