Tanzania classic Safari - Gombe Stream / Mahale

DURATION : 6 DAYS

Day 1
Leave from the hotel in Arusha for flight to Kigoma airport, arrived in Kigoma on time with lunch the hilltop hotel then drive to Gombe stream national park is 16km North of Kigoma town. It is the smallest park in Tanzania extending over some 525sq/km of hill terrain climbing from the lake shore, at an altitude of 773m to 1,500m above sea level at the top of the rift escarpment. At no point measuring more than 3.5km.
Day 2
After an early breakfast, start the tracking usually starts early morning. The guides start at the area where chimpanzee nested the previous night and then track from there onwards. As you walk in the thick forest while tracking the Chimpanzee, you pass through beautiful sceneries and hear thrilling sounds of the birds, insects, monkeys and other inhabitants of the forest. Dinner and overnight at the Gombe luxury tented camp or bush campsite.
Day 3
Early morning continue your tracking with a guide of Chimpanzee at Gombe stream which you can take three or four hours depending on where the Chimpanzee are. The Chimpanzee are located close by when there is an abundance of fruits nearby, but when there is scarcity of fruits, the Chimpanzee move further away in search of fruits. Sometimes if you are lucky you can see the Chimpanzees right at the camp! Dinner and overnight at the Gombe luxury tent or bush camp.
Day 4
Climbing to Kakombe and Mkenke Waterfalls!
These are two spectacular waterfall at the Park, Kakombe is near to the Hostel and takes about 30minutes, it takes about 1 hour climb to get to Mkenke. Sometimes you have to walk through these falls while tracking the Chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight at the selective bush camp or luxury tent.
Day 5

After breakfast, normally you go into the forest for Chimpanzee tracking in the morning and back for lunch, in the afternoon you have the option of either going into the forest for chimpanzee tracking again or do other activities such as walking on the beach, swimming, fishing and snorkeling. You can also visit local fishing villages close to the park and get first hand experience of a typical African fishing village.
Day 6
This day is generally you can be explores at any time though Mountain hikes, Chimpanzee tracking, special birding tours with more than 1,000 species recorded within an area, while enthusiastic amateurs might reasonably hope to see more than 500 species within the same time frame and other forest walks are more challenging during the rains. Then drive to the airport/railway station for other description.
